"Let's Get to the Point, Shall We?

John 4:4-13
"Now he had to go through Samaria. So he came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son Joseph. Jacob's well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour.
When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, "Will you give me a drink?" (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.)
The Samaritan woman said to him, "You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?" (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.)
Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water."
"Sir," the woman said, "you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his flocks and herds?"
Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again,"

Notes taken from Isaac Hunter's sermon...
*"Be known as a community that loves each other and loves those outside of our community."
*"Jesus was intentional about building relationships."
*"Think more about others than we think about ourselves."
*Matthew 6:33 says "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." "This side of heaven brings trouble and more trouble the next day."
*"Consider others better than yourselves. There are 2 kinds of people. One is the type that walks into a room and says 'here I am'. The other walks into a room and says 'there you are'."
*"Our job is to love every single person well. The secret to bein popular is to care about every person you meet and that they matter to God, but you cannot fake it."
*"Jesus did not lock eyes with a person He would not die for."
*"There is a story behind the face of everyone we meet. Everyday has a story."
*Proverbs 20:27 says "The lamp of the LORD searches the spirit of a man; it searches out his inmost being."
*Psalm 139:1 says "O LORD, you have searched me and you know me."
*"We are created for community. Get outside of ourselves to know what goes on with others."
*"Relational genius of God...He knows all about our sin and He loves us still. God's grace is bigger than any sin."

I Corinthians 1:28-31
"He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as it is written: "Let him who boasts boast in the Lord."

I John 4:7-8
"Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."

John 15:15
"I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you."

2 Corinthians 12:9
"But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me."

Matthew 28:20
"and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Proverbs 4:11
" guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths."

I John 4:16-18
"And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love."
